(812 78) 275 95, 261 91 fax (812 78) 231 63 Vladimir Bykachev -director The Vyborg Department for Youth Affairs was opened in 1991 and works in the following directions: work with children and teen-agers in districts, social defence of young people, youth employment, work with youth non-governmental organisations and foreign partners. The department has a complete network: 10 teen-agers clubs with 600 participants, shelter «Spasatelnuy Krug» where 210 teen-agers have found place, centre «Gloria» with «Hot Line Telephone» (the number of calls per day and night is 15), summer rest-centres «Volna» and «Zelenuy ostrov» where more than 400 children have rest annually. The department organises a numerous number of popular cultural youth events such as: «Snegurochka», «Humorina», «Husarskaya ballad», «Valentine and Valentina» and so on. The department has a good experience in working out and carrying out invest projects such as: adapting centre «Youth City» (1994), youth work-camp Pevcheskoe Pole»(1997), tourist rout «Pilgrim»(1997). The Russian Youth Committee conferred the project «Pevcheskoe Pole» on special diploma (1997).
